Networking & activism
Aims:
- Connect WoBio with the Elise Richter network, and with other female researchers at the University of Vienna (WoChem...) and other research institutions (MedUni, BoKu, Vienna Bio Center, ÖAW...)
- Organise events to increase the public awareness about issues faced by women at the University of Vienna, and more generally in academia
Upcoming events:
- March 8 - International Women's Day: awareness actions at the Faculty of Life Sciences (WoBio stand, distribution of leaflets) + demonstration in Vienna
- June 6 - Welcome Day: networking event with women* at other faculties / research institutions. Organized with the WoBio Welcome Group
- June - Pride month: actions in support of LGBTQIA+ people
- November 25 - International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women: awareness actions, in collaboration with WoBio workgroup "sexual harassment"
