With the Marie Jahoda Grant, the University of Vienna aims to support female, highly qualified postdoctoral researchers who had to reduce or interrupt their research activities, because of care obligations in their  families or close environment. Starting in 2014, the grant has been issued every year from the rectorate's resources. Marie Jahoda, a renowned social scientist, who started her career at the University of Vienna, lends her name to the grant since 2019. In the winter semester 2019/20, a total of 10 grants set at EUR 30,000 each have been awarded to researchers from a wide array of faculties.

The Marie Jahoda Grant will enable Dr. Lisa Horn-Péter to analyse and publish previously collected data, submit grant applications and work on her habilitation project. Further, she will conceive and hold an interdisciplinary lecture highlighting the advantages and pitfalls of comparative behavioural research, which is meant to attract students from behavioural biology, psychology, cognitive science, anthropology, and related fields.
