We are happy to invite you for a special screening of the award-winning documentary "Second Nature" along with a panel discussion on November 24th at UBB!
Come and discover how much queerness there is in nature, from clownfish changing sex, to albatross, penguins and swans parenting in same sex pairs, or to bonobos who are regularly engaging in same-sex sex behaviours!
Narrated by Elliot Page, Second Nature follows trailblazing Evolutionary Biologist Dr. Joan Roughgarden as she meets groundbreaking scientists exploring the 1500+ animal species who engage in same-sex sexual behaviour and parenting, change sex, form matriarchies, and more, debunking myths that females are "inferior" and that being queer is "unnatural."
Watch the trailer [here] and learn more about the film [here].
After the screening, panelist members Jasmine Loveland, Caitlin McDonough-Goldstein, Persson Baumgartinger, and Atlas Thébault-Guiochon will share their insights on the documentary with each other and with the audience. We are looking forward to a lively discussion that brings together different perspectives. A small social event will take place after the discussion in the foyer to mingle and interact.
Attendance is free of charge, but because of limited space, we are asking you to let us know if you are planning on attending [here]. This event is sponsored and organized by WoBio.
